The Wheelhouse Restaurant is located in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Since the opening in May 1978 The Wheelhouse became a fixture on the beautiful Chain O' Lakes. All the food at The Wheelhouse is prepared fresh daily and there is no processed food. “We trim all our roast beef, we roast all of our own roasts; we do not buy anything pre-cooked” said owner Jeff Maiman. “We don't own any deep fryers. We have no trans fats in the restaurant at all. All of our sauces, our lasagna, our pizza dough is made from scratch. We grind all our meat and make our own sausage for pizza and for the Bomber sandwich. I make all my own seasonings and soups.” The focus is to always offer superior tasting, first quality food made from scratch. Everything is handcrafted including sausage, dough, rolls, sauces and salad dressings.
In 2009 the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce selected The Wheelhouse as the Large Business of the Year. The Large Business of the Year is awarded to a business that has been in business five or more years, has 21 or more employees, demonstrates an economic enhancement to the area, provides services to the community and enhances the community image and enriches community life.
The Wheelhouse is open seven days a week all year long. They are famous for their Pizza and Sandwiches. Everyday there is a different special ranging from Prime Rib, Fish Fry, Smoked Ribs, Pasta Night and The Famous Pizza Buffet. The 32 inch Party Pizza actually originated from a request for a birthday pizza.
The Wheelhouse offers more than great food. There are seven great events during the summer, bands, jams and other forms of live music and entertainment throughout the year. Here at the Wheelhouse we are happy to accommodate your birthday party, Christmas party or any special occasion or gathering. During the summer you can enjoy outdoor seating with a great view of the Chain O' Lakes.
Next door to The Wheelhouse is Scoopers, another business created by Jeff Maiman. There is where you will find dessert and some of the best ice cream cones in the area. Scoopers is open during the warm weather and serves Cedar Crest Ice Cream.
